Door hanger among coordinated printed marketing pieces

Door-Hanger Design Checklist

A door hanger gets only a few seconds of attention. Its job is to communicate one useful promise, show why the recipient should believe it, and make the next action obvious.

Start with the physical format

  • Use the exact ordered size and approved template.
  • Keep essential content away from the trim and die-cut opening.
  • Extend backgrounds through the bleed.
  • Check both sides in the intended top-to-bottom orientation.

Build the message hierarchy

Lead with the customer outcome in a short headline. Follow with one or two specific reasons to choose the business, then a clear call to action. Phone numbers, URLs, QR codes, offer dates, and service-area terms should be easy to find.

Design for real viewing conditions

Use strong contrast, comfortably sized type, and a limited number of type styles. Review the piece at actual size and from arm's length. Avoid putting critical text over a busy image.

Check the offer

Confirm dates, prices, exclusions, required disclosures, redemption instructions, and the internal capacity to honor the response. A proof confirms what will be printed; the customer remains responsible for final content approval.

Finish the job setup

Verify material, coating, quantity, packaging, production time after proof approval, shipping, and any distribution plan. The current SticPrint Door Hangers product starts from its verified live price; campaign package contents and any distribution services are shown on the live product page and confirmed during order review.
