Print pieces arranged for an artwork preflight review

Print-Ready Artwork Checklist

A clean print file starts with the final product, not the design software. Confirm the finished size, orientation, sides, fold pattern, and quantity before exporting. If a job uses a template, place your artwork in that template instead of resizing after the design is complete.

Check the file setup

  • Use the ordered finished size.
  • Extend backgrounds and photos through the required bleed.
  • Keep logos, phone numbers, QR codes, and other critical content inside the safe area.
  • Remove hidden guides, notes, and unused pages.
  • Make sure the front and back are in the expected order.

Check image and type quality

Use the highest-resolution source images available. Review small type at actual size and outline, embed, or package fonts according to the file instructions. Avoid screenshots of logos or text.

Check color and finishing

Prepare color using the required print workflow and expect normal variation between a bright screen and printed ink. Mark folds, drill holes, cut paths, or white-ink layers only when the product specification requests them.

Export and review

Export the requested PDF or source format, reopen the exported file, and inspect every page at high zoom. A proof is the last checkpoint for content and placement; it is not a substitute for checking spelling, dates, phone numbers, prices, or legal language.

If you are unsure, use the SticPrint artwork-check path before production. Production begins only after the required artwork and proof approvals are complete.
